Criminal defense, including traffic, misdemeanors, and felonies, is Mark’s primary area of concentration. He has experience representing individuals at all stages of criminal proceedings since 1979. Whether the need of a client is a pre-charge matter, motion practice (typically search and seizure and constitutional issues), or trial, Mark has been very successful in obtaining excellent results for his clients. Mark practices in all North Dakota state and federal courts and can provide over 200 case references - actual cases - that have all been successfully concluded.

Mark grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, graduating from Fargo North High School in 1972. He obtained a Business Economics degree from North Dakota State University in 1976, and attended Law School at the University of North Dakota, graduating in 1979.

Mark’s wife, Sheila, worked for the United States District Court Clerk’s office in Fargo for twenty-seven years prior to her retirement. She now works for Fargo Public Schools. They have two adult sons and a beautiful granddaughter.

Mark has been a volunteer parent coach in various sports, including football, baseball, and basketball. He enjoys golfing, skiing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends at the lake.
